Hello everyone!
This is Michael (Edges-to-Everything), a recent addition to the Admin team here. I will introduce myself in a moment, but first, don't forget that details on the upcoming Challenge will be up by the 18th of April or soon after! That is just days away! A lot of great prizes have been made available for the five winners, so don't miss out on your chance to share in those!
I joined deviantART just four months ago, yet I already feel like a real part of this huge community, and I thank all of you for that! I am primarily in the Lit community, because I can't draw or paint or do photomanipulation or anything like that. But I love to check out all sorts of traditional/visual art, and dA is a great place to do that! I appreciate that the traditional arts and literature go so well together on dA! Literature needs a boost, though, and all of you in this group are doing your part, right?
I'm on the other side of the planet (sort of) from our Founder, Ash. I'm in Minnesota, in the U.S. We-Write-to-Escape was one of the first groups I joined and contributed to. I have been writing poetry recently, but I might be returning to my first love - prose - for a while. I will also be learning the ropes as a Co-Founder admin here, and to be successful at that, I'm hoping to find some more help. I decided to help Ash because this wonderful group is growing fast! Ash is planning a revamp of the group, and there will soon be a need for more admins to assist with a variety of positions, such as:
Monitoring folders Critiquing work
Collecting features Organising the Favourites folder
Welcoming new members Answering enquiries on the group page
Plus more!
Are you interested in being a contributor for the group? Wonderful! This is a fun group to be a part of! It's easy to apply! You can simply Note imperfect-parachute (Ash) or Note the group, with a little info about yourself:
1: Please provide your username plus the name you'd like to be called (if it's something other than your username).
2: Please include any previous involvement/experience with a group. Experience is not required, but new ideas and energy you bring to the group are a plus!
3: Please include one or more tasks you are interested in working on, from the list of positions above.
4: Please let us know how often you are on dA, and when you will be available to do things for the group. Activity at the group once a fortnight minimum is preferred, with exceptions around life and everything it throws at us, of course!
5: Please let us know what you like to write and to read best - Poetry? Prose? Fan Fiction?
6: Please share any suggestions you may have for an event/activity the group could do (e.g. events, comps, raffles, features etc). No need for detail, just a brief outline of any ideas you have would be fine!
Well, that's all I have for the time being, except for saying Thank You to imperfect-parachute for the opportunity to be an admin here. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better, and and best of luck to those of you who will be entering the upcoming contest! Stay tuned for it!

Call for last minute entries! Prizes changed, also
Hi all
So, February has come to an end and March is upon us. Therefore, last month's Challenge, Write A Letter to Your Best Friend, is over.
I will not be reading the entries for a couple days, as uni has just started and I have lots of homework, so if you haven't submitted yet but wanted to, last minute entries are completely welcome!!!
As of right now, there are 16 entries in the folder, which is pretty awesome. Hopefully there will be even more when I come on to read them...
Also, as I have only received feedback from one admin in the group, I have had to change the prizes for the challenges.
UPDATED PRIZE LIST IS AS FOLLOWS:

February 2015 Writing Challenge
UPDATE: THERE IS ONE MORE DAY LEFT TO SUBMIT SOMETHING FOR THIS CHALLENGE. I can't wait to see all of your submissions!!
Also, changes may be made to the prizes for the Challenge. But you will be notified if/when this occurs before winners are announced.
Hi all
So, it is February, and February seems to revolve around one day, and one day only: Valentine's Day. There are 27 other days in February, but that is the only one people ever talk about. It's also the only thing people seem to be running contests and prompts about on dA this month. And while one or two love prompts are okay, I'm just sick of trying to write about love at the m
Monthly Challenges + Future Contest
Hello there everyone!
So, it's been a whole two and a half months since I've posted a journal on here, which is devastatingly slack on my part. I am sorry for my absence. A combination of end-of-semester exams, illness and family commitments meant that I haven't been on dA much at all, regularly, since last September. But, nevertheless, I am back and ready to get things rolling over here.
First off, welcome new members, welcome back old members and hello to everyone out there in the dA lit world!! :)
Secondly, I have received some comments from members saying that this group has just become a "deviation dump", and other things along
